On the flip side, the 'gift' of cancer, is seeing the most remarkable beauty, in the most mundane, everyday occurrences and being grateful for having had the opportunity to witness them. Living with treatable but incurable cancer, as I do, I can tell you that someone describing what you are going through as a 'journey', is condescending and not helpful in the slightest.
